The
Kwara State University On-Campus hostels has recently been attacked by an
insect nicknamed, Electric fly; an army green/purple insect, between 5-27mm in
full size, nocturnal but not as active during the day as in the night as it is
seen near brilliant light at night has however landed few students in the Kwara
State University medical centre.
The
Kwara State University Health Service has however released a precautionary
notice on how to tread carefully to avoid the sting of the insect. The
University Health service has also dispatch the Environmental Health Unit to
the all University hostels between 7-10pm for awareness and mass extermination
of the insect.
Students
are therefore advised to report any unusual cluster of the identified insect at
the medical centre.
